So, you want to become one of Hapitalist's approved vendor?
We love vendors at Hapitalist. Being on both sides of the equation, I found it wild how terribly vendors are usually treated by most companies. When starting Hapitalist, we wanted to make sure vendors always felt welcomed, honored, and valuable.
Our audience is made up of independent entrepreneurs, founders, and creative business owners who actively invest in tools, education, and platforms that make their businesses more sustainable. We don’t sell attention. We build trust, then introduce partners who genuinely solve problems our readers are already trying to fix.
If you’re looking for fast impressions, we’re probably not the right fit.
If you’re looking to reach thoughtful buyers who value quality, longevity, and alignment, Hapitalist works extremely well.
We charge all vendors the same $300/yr as our 🦄Unicorn members, and the truth is that aside from access to our breakthrough sessions, I’m probably going to talk about you the same amount either way. Mainly, the question is whether you want us rooting for you or on your team.
The only two things we charge for otherwise, aside from business coaching) is if you want us to write an advertorial ($3,000) instead of you writing the article, and ad placement ($300 per insertion). We’ll talk about that all below.
Who we serve
Hapitalist serves creative entrepreneurs—writers, artists, educators, builders, and founders whose businesses are rooted in something they make, not just something they sell. Our audience lives at the intersection of craft and commerce. They care deeply about the quality of their work, but they also want it to support a real, sustainable business.
These aren’t hobbyists, and they aren’t growth-at-all-costs startups. Hapitalist readers are creators who have decided their work deserves to be taken seriously—financially, strategically, and creatively.
We’re especially well suited for the creator economy, where identity, trust, and long-term relationships matter more than scale alone. Our audience doesn’t chase every trend or platform shift. They build audiences slowly, sell intentionally, and choose tools that respect both their craft and their customers.
That makes Hapitalist a strong fit for partners who serve creators as business owners, not just content producers. Our readers invest in tools, education, and platforms that help them price their work confidently, own their audience, sell directly, and build businesses that last longer than any single algorithm.
If your company supports creators who want to make excellent work and make a living doing it—without sacrificing their values, health, or autonomy—Hapitalist is likely the right audience for you.
Who makes a great partner?
Hapitalist is the go-to resource for independent entrepreneurs, ambitious founders, and creative entrepreneurs looking to grow and monetize their work. We partner with companies that provide practical, high-value solutions to help them succeed, including:
Marketing & distribution services – If you offer tools to help entrepreneurs promote, distribute, or advertise their books, Hapitalist audience is your ideal customer.
Why It Works: Entrepreneurs need effective, data-driven ways to sell more, whether through price promotions, advertising, or retail distribution.
Financial clarity & money infrastructure - If you offer tools or services that help entrepreneurs understand, manage, and plan their money—cash flow, pricing, profitability, taxes, or runway—Hapitalist is a strong fit for your work.
Why It Works: Many founders don’t actually need more ideas or more revenue streams. They need clarity. Our audience is actively seeking better visibility into their finances so they can make calmer, smarter decisions and stop running their businesses in a constant state of stress.
Newsletter growth tools – If you’re a tool, analytics platform, or service helping entrepeneurs grow and monetize their newsletters, Hapitalist is your audience.
Why It Works: Many of our readers are building subscription-based businesses and looking for the best tools to scale.
Sustainable growth & distribution tools: If you provide marketing, sales, or distribution tools designed for small teams and independent founders—without requiring nonstop posting, launches, or hustle—Hapitalist is your audience.
Why It Works: Our readers want growth, but they want growth that fits into real lives. Tools that respect time, energy, and capacity consistently perform better with this audience than high-pressure, always-on systems.
Tools that support long-term work and capacity - If your product helps entrepreneurs manage workload, reduce overload, or build consistency without burning out, Hapitalist aligns closely with your values.
Why It Works: Sustainability is not a side concern for this audience—it’s central. Many founders are looking for ways to keep going without sacrificing their health, creativity, or personal lives.
Education, coaching & business mentors – If you’re a coach, strategist, or course creator helping entrepeneurs grow their brand and revenue, we want to feature your work.
Why It Works: Many founders need guidance on audience-building, direct sales, business strategy, and brand positioning. Our readers are actively investing in these areas.
Crowdfunding & direct sales platforms – If you help entrepeneurs sell directly to customers, whether through crowdfunding, storefronts, or preorders, our audience is eager to learn more.
Why It Works: Many creators are shifting toward direct sales models to build long-term sustainability, and they need tools to make it easier.
Ownership & asset-building platforms - If you help entrepreneurs turn their work into owned assets—through IP, audience ownership, licensing, repeatable systems, or compounding revenue—Hapitalist reaches founders ready to build leverage.
Why It Works: Hapitalist readers are moving away from fragile, one-off income and toward businesses that grow more stable over time. They’re actively looking for ways to own more of what they create instead of constantly starting from zero.
AI tools & intelligent automation - If you build AI-powered tools that help entrepreneurs think more clearly, make better decisions, or reduce the amount of manual effort required to run their business, Hapitalist is a strong fit.
We’re especially interested in AI that supports strategy, planning, prioritization, customer insight, content systems, or operational leverage—tools that act as force multipliers rather than replacements for human judgment.
Why It Works: Hapitalist readers aren’t looking for AI to “do everything for them.” They’re looking for AI that helps them work less reactively and more intentionally. Tools that reduce cognitive load, surface better options, or turn complexity into clarity resonate deeply with founders who want growth without burnout.
Legal, contracts & protection - If you provide legal services, contract tools, or IP protection designed for independent entrepreneurs and small teams, Hapitalist is a strong fit.
Why It Works: Many founders are under-protected, not reckless. Our audience is actively looking for ways to reduce downside risk, protect what they’ve built, and make growth feel safer instead of more fragile.
Health, resilience & founder sustainability - If your work helps entrepreneurs protect their health, manage stress, or build resilience while running a business, Hapitalist aligns with your mission.
Why It Works:Hapitalist readers care deeply about longevity. They know that burning out breaks businesses just as surely as bad strategy, and they’re actively investing in tools that help them stay well enough to keep going.
Operations, systems & simplification - If you help entrepreneurs simplify their operations, automate busywork, or reduce unnecessary complexity, Hapitalist is a natural home.
Why It Works: Many founders don’t need more ambition. They need fewer moving parts. Tools that make businesses easier to run resonate strongly with readers who want clarity instead of chaos.
Hiring, delegation & small-team support - If you help founders hire well, delegate effectively, or build small teams without bloating their business, Hapitalist is a strong fit.
Why It Works: Our audience is often at the awkward middle stage where they can’t do everything themselves but don’t want a massive organization. They’re actively looking for smarter ways to get help without losing control.
Lifestyle infrastructure for founders - If your product or service supports the real logistics of founder life—insurance, benefits, mobility, flexibility, or life planning—Hapitalist is aligned.
Why It Works: Most business tools assume a “normal” life. Hapitalist readers don’t have one. They’re building businesses around real constraints, and they value partners who understand that reality.
Ethics, values & long-term alignment - If you help entrepreneurs make decisions that align with their values, boundaries, or definition of “enough,” Hapitalist is a fit.
Why It Works: Hapitalist readers are not chasing growth at all costs. They want partners who respect intentional scale, ethical tradeoffs, and sustainable success instead of infinite expansion.
If you help entrepeneurs of any kind sell, grow their audience, or monetize their craft, we’d love to collaborate.
Please note: We don’t just take any vendor that wants to work with us. We only approve companies we personally use, trust, and love. Every potential vendor goes through a vetting process to ensure their products, services, and values align with the needs of independent founders and creative entrepreneurs.
This means:
We’ve tested and/or worked with the company ourselves.
The service provides real, measurable value to entrepreneurs.
We’d recommend it to our own readers even if they didn’t partner with us.
If we wouldn’t use it, we won’t promote it. That’s the promise we make to our readers.
Why you won’t hear us talk about CTR
Before we get into the numbers, it’s worth saying this plainly: we don’t optimize for or talk much about click-through rate.
We don’t think CTR is a particularly useful metric, and it’s remarkably easy to game, usually by making the reading experience worse. If you want to inflate clicks, all you have to do is withhold content, send partial emails, or manufacture urgency that forces readers to click just to finish what they started. That might boost a number, but it erodes trust.
CTR is also a short-term metric, and we’re not interested in short-term partnerships. We believe the real value of advertising comes from being present when a reader actually needs help, not from tricking them into smashing a button in the moment.
Our focus is on shaping a clear, compelling narrative with you over time so people understand why your product matters, not just that it exists.
Years ago, Russell had a meeting with a Mercedes dealership while selling advertising. They explained that their time horizon for a sale was 30 years. Their goal wasn’t to trigger an immediate purchase, but to influence decisions far into the future.
That’s the same long-term horizon we embrace at Hapitalist.
In a “now, now, now” world obsessed with quick wins, the real arbitrage comes from depth of connection and staying in the market longer than everyone else. Attention fades quickly. Trust compounds.
That’s why we believe we can offer exponential ROI by focusing on a longer time horizon than most publications. After all, the company that can afford to spend the most on marketing over the longest period of time usually wins.
At Hapitalist, we win by going deeper for longer and closely aligning ourselves with the KPIs that actually matter to you; high-quality leads, sustained demand, and long-term customer value.

Perks of being an approved vendor
If you’ve worked with us before, then you know the intangible benefits are as big as the tangible ones, but here is what you receive with our approved vendor program.
Please note, we are hyper focused on helping you meet your most important KPIs, even if they change throughout our relationship.
Article writing
Either you have the ability to writ an article (as long as it meets editorial standards) highlighting an aspect of your company that you want to promote. This article will be between 750-1,500 words, and will provide value as it focusing on the benefits of your service.
Good articles are 1-2k words with lots of actionable insights. Bonus points if you can bring in tactics that are working for you and either: aren't typically used in publishing, come from another industry and you've adapted it to publishing, or shouldn't work but do.
The work we publish generally revolves around the five pillars of building a creative career Russell set out in 2016; making great content (including mindset), sales principles and strategies, building an audience from scratch, selling at live events, and launching a product successfully. We’re also very interested in strategies to adapt your work to another format, like comics to movies or books to audio drama.
When it comes to areas of interest, we’re mainly looking to cover the following areas: mindset, writing/creating, retailer sales, website sales, crowdfunding, subscriptions, transmedia, and conventions/conferences.
Here are some examples of the articles you can write for our publication:
When partners write their own articles, not only does it performs better but it also reflects their voice better as well, but we can write the advertorial for you as well. If you would like us to write the article instead, there is a minimum $3,000 charge.
Vendor talk
During our partnership, you have the option of having a sponsor talk/Q&A with our Hapitalist community. If preferred, Russell can come into your community and do a talk as well.
Access to our Breakthrough sessions & other resources
Just like our 🦄Unicorn members, you have access to our twice-monthly breakthrough sessions where you can sit down in small groups with other vendors and authors to talk through your biggest blocks while hearing what they also have to say about their own pain points.
This was easily the most loved part of our in-person conference, and the #1 requested thing from both vendors and authors to reintegrate into Hapitalist.
You also get access to our Russellbot digital brain and all the books and courses should you want to take or read them. Find a complete list of resources right here.
Advertising placement
Aside from advertorials, the only other thing you can pay for is ad insertions at $300/per placement. We only offer premiere placement in the top 20% of your article(s). There will be no other sponsors in your ad.
Here is an example of how a premium ad might look:
